Travelling to Avignon

There are a few options to get to Avignon from major airports in France, connecting to the town via high-speed train. If you're not sure which is the best travel route for you, please reach out to us and we'd be happy to help!

1. Fly to Paris, take a train to Avignon (2.5hr)
2. Fly to Nice, take a train to Avignon (3h)
3. Fly to Marseille, take a train to Avignon (30min)

Staying in Avignon

We recommend staying at one of the hotels below. You can also stay at an AirBnb in town just make sure to be walking distance from Hôtel d'Europe for shuttle services to and from the venue on Saturday and Sunday.

Exploring Provence

Touring Avignon

Looking to stroll around town? Start your day at the Palais des Papes, the grand medieval palace that anchors Avignon’s history. From there, stroll to the famous Pont Saint-Bénézet (Pont d’Avignon) and continue up to the Rocher des Doms gardens for sweeping views of the Rhône. For lunch, sample Provençal specialties at Les Halles Market before spending the afternoon wandering charming streets like Rue des Teinturiers, lined with canals and cafés.

Wine Tasting

Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just looking for a fun afternoon, a tasting offers the perfect way to experience the region’s flavors and scenery.

Clos du Caillou (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, organic & biodynamic): This family-run estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape showcases organic and biodynamic wine production in a beautiful setting.

Tavel: Known as the birthplace of rosé, Tavel is perfect for a lighter tasting experience. Its vineyards produce only rosé wines — crisp, refreshing, and ideal for warm Provençal afternoons.

Lavender Field

Summer in Provence means endless rows of lavender. We recommend two spots that make for picture-perfect stops surrounded by this iconic bloom.

Musée de la Lavande ~30 min drive from Avignon
Abbey of Sénanque ~50 min drive from Avignon, near Gordes

Short Day Trips

If you've rented a car and want to explore Provence, we recommend the following:

Carrières des Lumières: This former stone quarry has been transformed into an immersive art show. Famous works of art are projected onto the massive walls, floors, and ceilings, all set to music. It’s magical, and especially refreshing on a warm June day since the quarry stays cool inside. ~40 min drive from Avignon.

Luberon Hilltop Villages: A drive through the Luberon is a quintessential Provençal experience. Villages like Gordes (where we got engaged!), Roussillon, and Bonnieux are perched on hillsides, offering breathtaking views, charming cobblestone streets, and lively markets. ~50 min drive from Avignon.
