What will the weather be like?
Provence in June is very warm! Be ready for 30ºC+ and sunny. We will have ample fans, shade and water to make sure everyone is comfortable.
When should I arrive and leave Avignon?
Aim to arrive to Avignon by the afternoon of June 26 so you have time to get ready for our welcome dinner that evening. Plan to check out of your hotel in Avignon on Monday, June 29.
Do you have a registry?
Your presence if the greatest gift of all! Traveling to France from near and far is so meaningful and we appreciate you taking the time with us to celebrate our marriage.
If you're adamant about gifting, we would appreciate a card or a contribution towards our honeymoon.
What is there to do in Provence?
We recommend exploring Avignon by foot, a town filled with Roman and Medieval gems.
Summer in Provence means endless rows of lavender. We recommend two spots that make for picture-perfect stops surrounded by this iconic bloom.
Musée de la Lavande ~30 min drive from Avignon
Abbey of Sénanque ~50 min drive from Avignon, near Gordes
If you've rented a car and want to explore Provence, we recommend the following:
Carrières des Lumières: This former stone quarry has been transformed into an immersive art show. Famous works of art are projected onto the massive walls, floors, and ceilings, all set to music. It’s magical, and especially refreshing on a warm June day since the quarry stays cool inside. ~40 min drive from Avignon.
Luberon Hilltop Villages: A drive through the Luberon is a quintessential Provençal experience. Villages like Gordes (where we got engaged!), Roussillon, and Bonnieux are perched on hillsides, offering breathtaking views, charming cobblestone streets, and lively markets. ~50 min drive from Avignon.
